Financial Institutions
The attorneys practicing in Musick Peeler’s Financial Institutions Group are dedicated to exceeding the expectations of the firm’s banking clients. The Group represents a wide array of depository institutions, diversified financial services firms and other financial services providers.
Our attorneys routinely handle matters related to commercial and real estate secured loan documentation, loan workouts and bankruptcy, securities and regulatory compliance and internet banking transactions.
In addition to regulatory and transactional services, litigators working with the Financial Institutions Group represent clients in diverse matters such as forged check and warranty claims, borrower disputes and consumer litigation including unfair business practices claims, alleged violations of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act and consumer class actions. The Group’s attorneys also handle judicial foreclosures and appropriately large collection actions. Outside of the consumer arena, the Group handles interbank disputes, including claims arising from loan participations and actions involving directors and officers named in shareholder and regulatory suits.
In conjunction with Musick Peeler's other practice groups, the Financial Institutions Group is also involved in matters associated with employment law, and offers advice regarding insurance coverage for claims made against financial institutions.
