William J. Tebbe
William J. Tebbe is an equity partner with the firm and is based in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Tebbe is a member of the Labor & Employment Law, Academic Labor Representation Law and Public Entity Representation Law practice groups with extensive experience defending businesses, professionals, public entities, educational institutions and heath care organizations. His employment practice includes counseling and defending employers against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, unlawful harassment, whistleblower retaliation, failure to accommodate, breach of contract, and other related employment claims. He also regularly counsels and defends public entities in areas of traditional labor law such as bargaining, arbitration hearings, fact-finding, and unfair labor practice proceedings before the California Public Employment Relations Board.
Mr. Tebbe has tried numerous cases to verdict, successfully handled civil appeals before the California Court of Appeals and United State Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and defended employment claims before various administrative agencies including the CRD (formerly the DFEH), DLSE, EEOC and PERB.
In addition, Mr. Tebbe provides counseling to employers on a variety of personnel issues, including employee discipline, hiring and termination practices, accommodating medical and disability leave requests, and developing employee handbooks.
