Kip Krieger

Kip Krieger is a business attorney who advises companies on complex commercial transactions, securities matters, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, procurement and strategic business matters. Kip’s securities law experience includes advising on U.S. securities law compliance for foreign private issuers and cross-border transactions and counseling non-U.S. companies seeking access to U.S. capital markets via the Depository Trust Company. Drawing on extensive experience as both outside counsel and senior in-house counsel, Kip provides practical, business-focused legal advice that helps clients manage risk while achieving their commercial objectives.

Prior to joining Musick Peeler, Kip served as Senior Corporate Counsel for GCI Communication Corp., Alaska's largest telecommunications provider, and Johnson Controls, Inc., one of the world largest providers of HVAC, fire, and security equipment, where he advised on a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. He also managed a team responsible for negotiating and administering high volumes of commercial agreements and worked closely with business leaders to improve operational efficiency and contract management processes. 

Earlier in his career, Kip practiced with Zobrist Law Group, serving as outside general counsel to companies ranging from emerging businesses to multinational corporations on corporate transactions, financing, regulatory compliance, and governance matters. He began his legal career in the Palo Alto office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, representing leading private equity sponsors and venture capital firms in sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions.

Kip’s international experience includes living, studying and working in Ghana, Kazakhstan, Peru, Spain, Argentina and South Africa.

Kip is admitted to practice in California and Virginia and is fluent in Spanish.
